NOW I’M GOING TO TELL YOU A STORY 📖

A few years ago I told my Dad that I had made two books in a year.

He paused confused… then said:

“NO YOU HAVEN'T. You’ve made comics, not books. Writing and publishing two good books in a year is really hard. Maybe impossible.”

I left it a minute and said:

“Well… making a sixty-page comic is more complicated and expensive than producing a book. It takes at least two people working hard for half a year - sometimes dozens more - to make a single issue. If you tot up the man hours, a comic is a bigger artistic feat than a single person writing a book.”

He shrugged. He wasn’t having it then. But maybe… he’ll be having it now.

THE EXPERIMENT BEGINS… 🚀

In the next 365 days we’re going to attempt an experiment. One very few have tried.

Can an indie publisher fund, produce and ship FOUR books in 12 months?

That’s right.

Some of you will be thinking: “This is mad. Finish Issue Six first, you maniacs.”

First off - you’re right. This is mad. BUT- There’s a logic to it.

Arks Issue Six will be the biggest, strangest, most demanding book we’ve ever attempted. To do it properly… we need to grow the audience. And by grow, I mean double it.

Arks Helices and Arks Proximan are mind-melting, hard sci-fi and probably the best things I have ever written… and they’re also more accessible. They’re a worm hole that'll help us reach more readers, build momentum on Kickstarter through 2026, and put us in a position to make Arks Issue Six the way it needs to be made in 2027.
